Since March a new face has joined the fray: Dimitri Belov, who serves D\u00fcsseldorf Convention and D\u00fcsseldorf Tourismus as \u201cHead of Health Marketing\u201d and markets this medical location on an international scale. &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From royals to radiology: medicine marketing is his mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At home in the world \u2013 this is what Dimitri Belov is even when he is not travelling; because his job is to win over guests and business partners from all over the world for the \u201cMedical Valley on the Rhine\u201d. Due to its density this cluster makes D\u00fcsseldorf such an attractive destination for both the PCOs of medical congresses and meetings and for health tourists alike: \u201cAlongside Munich and Berlin D\u00fcsseldorf is synonymous with cutting-edge medicine and very high medical standards that are in demand with patients the world over,\u201d explains Dimitri Belov, who has held the \u201close ends\u201d of medical tourism to form a dense network for D\u00fcsseldorf Tourismus since 2016. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>From George Clooney to Kobe Bryant: D\u00fcsseldorf is the Medical Valley<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is patients as treated by Professor Dr. Peter Wehling, a world-renowned arthrosis and pain specialist, that add to the city\u2019s renown. His list of patients reads like the \u201cWho\u2019s Who\u201d in sports and show-biz: be it movie stars like Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and George Clooney or NBA star Kobe Bryant or professional golfers like Vijay Singh and Fred Couples \u2013 they all trust in the medical expertise of Peter Wehling, who also lectures as a professor at the University of D\u00fcsseldorf and University of North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peter Wehling is not an isolated case. The number of private clinics boasting internationally renowned, top-notch physicians has been growing in D\u00fcsseldorf for years; and not only in plastic surgery where D\u00fcsseldorf has long been dubbed Europe\u2019s plastic surgery capital. The city boasts just as wide expertise in treating severe deformities, in laser medicine and aesthetic dermatology. Expertise that attracts patients from the Arab Gulf region and the CIS states. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Royals from the Gulf states as guests<br><\/strong>Dimitri Belov is aware of this: \u201cRoyals from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar regularly visit the Rhine metropolis to seek treatment here. On top of this, they enjoy D\u00fcsseldorf as a summer residence where they spend up to six weeks with their whole families. What they particularly appreciate is the wide variety of medical treatments offered here. It came in handy that he studied cultural sciences in Bochum and has a fine sense for cultural differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But you don\u2019t always have to go that far: \u201cWe have observed that a rising number of patients come from the Netherlands and the UK to D\u00fcsseldorf to obtain medical care here as self-payers.\u201d &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>USA plan medical congress in D\u00fcsseldorf<br><\/strong>And as if any more proof was needed that the work done by Dimitri Belov and his colleagues at D\u00fcsseldorf Convention bears fruit, the telephone rang during our conversation. At the other end of the line was a PCO from the US who had visited D\u00fcsseldorf a few days before with a colleague from Atlanta to scout the <strong>venue for a medical congress. <\/strong>When Dimitri Belov put down the receiver, he smiled and said: \u201cThis might just work out\u201d. He then added his gut feeling rarely let him down.
